Certificate Courses

With our eldest, we are getting to the business end of homeschool. It’s time to start making decisions and getting qualifications. One way we are doing that is through certificate courses. There are a lot out there!

  • Cert III in Early Childhood Education & Care
  • Cert II in Business
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment
  • Cert III in Aged Care
  • Cert III in Vet Nursing

No, she hasn’t done all of these, but completing a certificate course let’s you put your toe in the water of a career you are interested in so you know whether it’s worth investing more time in or not. They look great on a resume and they also lead to diploma courses. Did you know that by doing certain certificate and diploma courses you can enter university and completely skip the stressful (and not always useful) VCE step?

If you have a teenage homeschooler, start looking into the certificate courses offered at your local TAFE or Community House. You can get VET Fee Help, it outsources their education (giving you a little bit of respite!) and it prepares them like nothing else for the real-world education that is probably in their future, whether that’s university or any other type of formal learning.
